Communication is by far the most important activity in a project.
People can only do what they know; knowing exactly what needs to happen and how depends on good communication.
When things get documented and people have access to it, shared information can occur efficiently. In project planning for example, it is often good to use Post-It''s to sketch out the elements of project planning, then for shared files, migrating that information to Word or Excel tables or Microsoft Project files (or other brands of software).

Set up whatever accesses make sense for the different kinds of information that need to be shared and accessed
Make sure you have established clear expectations about how changes in the project need to be communicated and documented; make sure these expectations are communicated to all team members, sponsors, vendors, customers and other players
